Pastor Gord Schutz (Lead Pastor)
It is a true privilege for me to serve alongside the Mountainview family. I have been in pastoral ministry for over 10 years. 2014 was a monumental year of turning 40, graduating with a Master of Divinity and getting ordained in the C&MA (I’m still waiting for my trip to Europe as a “congratulations” gift).
Since moving here in December 2016, my wife Rae-Anna and our four little ones are excited to call Langley home. You can find us exploring the incomparable scenic beauty that is the lower mainland, looking for animals, enjoying a hot beverage, and playing Uno.

It’s my honor to have officially joined Mountainview Alliance Church as the Mandarin Pastor in September 2020. I served previously at Burnaby Alliance Church for over 4 years when I was sent in 2018 to start a Mandarin ministry here in Langley.
I grew up in Dalian (Northeast of China), went to university in Wuhan (Central China), and worked in Guangzhou (Southern China). In late 2001, I entered Canada to pursue a Master Degree in International Studies at UNBC (Prince George), during which time I received Jesus as my savior and responded to His calling to serve Him full time. After some waiting, I attended ACTS seminary of TWU in 2007 and graduated in 2010 with a Master of Divinity degree.
My wife, Tracy, and I have been married for 7 years, and currently live in Port Moody. During my spare time, I enjoy hiking, watching sports, and traveling with family.

It is an honor and privilege to be a part of the team here at MVA Church. For as long as I have memory, I have felt the pressing call from God to serve Him in a pastoral role at a church. Throughout my life I have seen God’s love and grace as He develops me as a leader in His communities. I moved to BC from my hometown of Barrie, ON in 2015. Since then I have assisted in planting several churches and found my way into Surrey Alliance, where I am currently a member. It has been an honor serving Mountainview for the past few years as the administrator and I am extremely excited for the challenges of this new role!
I am an outdoors enthusiast. I try to spend my time in nature whenever I have the chance with my favorite activities being: camping, rock climbing, and kayaking. I also love to create. Art, graphic design, story writing and more. If I have these two things I am content.

My wife Renee, our 2 kids and I have been attending Mountainview since January 2019, and I’ve been on staff since November 2020. We moved here in 2015 from Australia, where we worked with Youth With A Mission for 6 years. As a family we have a big heart for missions, and we love the DNA of The Alliance, where the local church is at the heart of the push to send people with the Gospel to all nations.
I have a background in professional music and feel at home both on stage and in the studio. I have an Associate of Arts in Music from Briercrest Bible College (2003) and a Bachelors of Music in Jazz Studies from Capilano College (2007). The years I spent in my early twenties attending a Vineyard church were particularly influential on my development as a worship musician and leader.
I love techy things, philosophical conversations, and experiencing cultural diversity. As a family we love exploring Vancouver, trying food from other countries (particularly South and Southeast Asian!)

I grew up in a C&MA church in Alberta, and children’s ministry and worship through music have always been a deep love of mine. After working in real estate administration while finishing nursing school, I practiced as a RN until I had my first child in 2010. Three more babies quickly followed and the last number of years have been focused on my family and supporting my husband in ministry. I am so excited to now be on staff at Mountainview and serve our church family in this way! Since moving to Langley from Alberta in 2016 this congregation has been an incredible blessing to us.
I love baking, singing, playing games, coffee, thrifting, hanging with my husband and kids and exploring outside! We are blessed to call Langley our home.
